The U.S. House of Representatives will begin debate — and is expected to vote — on the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

The House was expected to convene at 9 a.m. for the historic debate and vote – only the third time impeachment against a U.S. president has hit the House floor.

The articles of impeachment, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress will be debated for six hours before separate votes on each. Parameters were set Tuesday by the House Rules Committee.

If the articles are approved, a Senate trial would likely begin in January. Democrats hold a 233-197 majority in the House, with one independent and four vacancies, and the votes on the articles are expected to largely follow party lines.
