Two women arrested after brawl at South Side bar

Two women were arrested for allegedly punching officers during a brawl at a South Side bar early Monday morning. Police responded to a large fight at a bar on the 1500 block of East Carson Street around 1 a.m. Monday. The name of the bar was not provided. An officer witnessed a man attacking a female security guard and other patrons attacking other security guards. When an officer separated two women from a security guard they were attacking, one of the women allegedly punched the officer in the face with closed fists. After a struggle, the officer was able to put her in handcuffs. Police said the crowd of people fighting became larger and presented a dangerous and chaotic scene. The officer used pepper spray on people who were actively throwing punches. The officer then took the handcuffed woman out of the bar. Once outside, police said a second woman tried to intervene. She refused the officers’ orders to move away. When the officer tried to separate them, the second woman punched his leg with a closed fist. The officer used pepper spray on her then placed her in handcuffs. Police arrested Raechelle Price, 24, of Austin, Texas on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.Police also arrested Madalyn Como, 22, of Butler on charges of aggravated assault, obstructing the administration of law enforcement and disorderly conduct. Police are investigating and said more charges could result from the incident.
