Lancaster native Brad Rutter has been struggling during the Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time Tournament.
But even his struggles didn’t prevent him from giving props to the Philadelphia Eagles during Thursday night’s Final Jeopardy!
The category was 21st Century Oscars, and Rutter must have doubted his chances of coming up with a correct answer because he bet 4,133 points before he heard the question.
One of his answers to “two foreign directors who won Oscars, but whose films didn’t win,” was the Philadelphia Eagles, Super Bowl LII champs.
The significance of his bet? The Eagles winning score of 41-33 over the New England Patriots in 2018.
Rutter wasn’t the only contestant to stray far from a correct answer. James Holzhauer answered GHOST (Greatest Host of Syndicated TV) Alex Trebek.
Ken Jennings won Thursday’s match, giving him two wins. Holzhauer has one win. The first contestant with three match wins will claim the $1 million prize. The tournament continues at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 on ABC.
