Another Pittsburgh-area Wamart store to reduce overnight hours

Another Pittsburgh-area Walmart store will reduce its overnight hours, effective Feb. 1.Starting on that date, the company’s North Versailles location will close at midnight daily and reopen at 6 a.m.A Walmart spokesperson released a statement to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, writing, “We’re continually looking at how we can best serve our customers. Based on a recent review of shopping patterns at our North Versailles store, we will be adjusting hours and reallocating resources to better serve our customers during peak shopping periods. Starting Feb. 1, 2020, the store will close at midnight and reopen at 6 a.m.”Last fall, Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 broke the story that two Pittsburgh-area Walmart stores were reducing their overnight hours. Those stores are in Economy, Beaver County, which is near Conway, and in West Brownsville, Washington County.A check of Walmart’s company website shows the Gibsonia location now closes at 1 a.m. daily and reopens at 6 a.m.The North Versailles Walmart store made headlines last summer when a shooting occurred inside the store on July 5, 2019 at about 9:30 p.m.Walmart did not respond to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4’s request for a complete list of Pittsburgh-area stores that have made a reduction in overnight hours or are planning to make any changes to their overnight hours.
