The FBI is offering a reward for the arrest and conviction of a man sought for four bank robberies in the Harrisburg area in 2016-2017.
The FBI is seeking to capture an “armed and dangerous” man who robbed four Harrisburg-area banks in three months in 2016 and 2017, according to a news release.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for the man’s arrest and conviction.
In a news release, the FBI listed the robberies:
- October 14, 2016: M&T Bank, 5219 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania
- December 9, 2016: M&T Bank, 5528 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania
- December 23, 2016: Fulton Bank, 599 North 12th Street, Lemoyne, Pennsylvania
- January 6, 2017: M&T Bank, 4950 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
“Each robbery occurred on a Friday evening, minutes before the bank’s closing,” according to the FBI. “The subject would enter, brandish a gun, and advance behind the teller counter. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he’d flee the area of the bank.”
The FBI described the man as a male with a light complexion, about 25 to 35 years old, standing between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a stocky to muscular build. During the robberies, he wore a closely-cropped beard and mustache.
In addition, he wore dark-framed glasses or sunglasses and dark-colored clothing in all of the robberies. The weapon he brandished was a large semi-automatic handgun that appeared to be covered in camouflage-pattern tape.
In the October robbery in Mechanicsburg, the suspect wore a camouflage face covering and distinctive sneakers. In the three robberies that followed, he wore several baseball hats, according to the FBI.
