Escaped Lawrence County Jail inmate captured

An escaped Lawrence County Jail inmate was captured in New Castle today. On July 3, New Castle police officers were dispatched to the Lawrence County Jail in reference to an escaped inmate.Officers learned that an inmate identified as Brittany Flory had escaped the jail through a fenced in outdoor exercise area with assistance from another inmate.On July 4, officers were able to determine that Flory hiding at a residence in New Castle. When officers attempted to utilize a stun gun on her, she managed to dive head first out a second floor window.Flory was taken into custody by officers that were securing the perimeter after falling to the ground. She was then transported to the hospital for injuries to her wrist.Flory has been returned to the Lawrence County Jail and is being charged with escape and flight to avoid apprehension.
