Hunting season is upon us, and that means it’s time to take the hunting-trapper education course.
In-person classes have been booked all the way to February of 2021, as they are only allowed up to 50 percent capacity due to the pandemic.
Seeking an alternative? For ages 11 and older, you can take the hunter-trapper course completely online. It can be taken on any device from smartphone all the way to computer.
Online classes can be registered for and taken at hunter-ed.com.
Once you earn a certificate from the course, it can be printed and used temporarily until the official one is mailed.
The hunter-trapper education course costs $19.95 and takes roughly 6-8 hours to complete.
The course has 11 components, which include chapters such as firearm safety rules and even basic shooting skills. Each unit has a quiz where you must achieve 80% or higher to pass the unit. If you fail, you are given the chance re-take the quiz until you pass.
After that, you are given the opportunity to take a practice exam and then the actual exam after that.
After the course is taken, all that needs to be done is print out the temporary certificate, buy a hunting license, and you are ready to hunt.
